MoU Between St.John De Britto College of Education, Thanjavur and Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
St.John De Britto College of Education has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Bharathidasan University to conduct Skill Development Programme. It is three months certificate course. Our college students and students outside of our college community can make use of this opportunity. SJDBCE will conduct the classes in Spoken English, Personality Development, and Office Automation as per the syllabus prescribed by Bharathidasan University. Upon successful completion of theory and practice, University will conduct exam and certificates will be given to the participants. It would be additional boon when the students apply for job later on. Communicative Skills in English
The course consists of the following: 1) Pronunciation Practice, outline of English speech sounds, with basic grammar, combination of vowels, consonants and sounds, pronunciation of spelling endings, stress, intonation to convey different moods, developing skills in listening and reading; 2) Conversational Practice, starting conversation with a stranger, telephone conversation, expressing opinions, good manners of speech, persuasion, and conversation in various situations. The training will the combination of theory and practice using hi-tech English language lab, and group dynamics. The course aims not merely certificate but transformation of person.
Office Automation
Office automation skills have become necessary in our work places now. Therefore our students are taught to develop this skill in using all necessary software for office automation in schools, colleges, and other offices. This course includes: creating and editing multiple documents, layouts, weblinks, review and insert options, spreadsheet, presentation skills, PowerPoint, animation effects, online registration, and several other useful skills for office work in schools, colleges, and government and private offices.
Personality Development
Skills to build one's self-esteem, confidence, verbal and non-verbal communication while attending interviews are taught to develop one's personality. The course includes: theory on different types of personalities, character development, understanding behavioral pattern, motivation, self-esteem, anger management, interpersonal relationship, social behavior, management of emotions, appropriate body language, friendship and leadership, negotiation skills, and effective public speaking and presentation skills.
Teaching Practice
As a part of their B.Ed programme, students go to various schools for teaching practice to gain experience and practical knowledge in the art of teaching.
Practical Exams
Practical exams are conducted for B.Ed and M.Ed students. Teaching aids prepared by the students are evaluated.
